Karkkidaka Package

(Monsoon Treatments)

What is Karkkidaka?
The term Karkkidaka refers to the crab, which is the mascot for the zodiac sign Cancer. The season begins when the Sun transits through the Karkkidaka Raasi (star sign).

Why Ayurveda in Karkkidaka/Monsoon?
The first 3 seasons—Shishira (Cold), Vasanta (Spring), and Grishma (Summer), are periods when the celestial Sun depletes the body of vital energy. The following 3 seasons—Varsha (Rainy), Sharad (Autumn), and Hemanta (Winter)—are periods when the body replenishes its energy from the environment.

Thus, the Varsha season, or Karkkidaka Raasi, is ideal for carrying out detoxification and rejuvenation therapies for the human body. During this period, the Vata dosha, responsible for all kinetic movements in the body, becomes aggravated, and the Pitta dosha, responsible for metabolic and enzymatic actions, tends to vitiate. Additionally, unhygienic water sources, and environmental factors can lead to vitiation of the Kapha dosha.

Benefits:
Treatments administered during this season detoxify the body, rejuvenate cells, maintain the equilibrium of the 3 doshas, and enhance the body’s natural immunity. Karkkidaka Chikitsa (Therapy) strengthens and supports the body, helping to replenish and sustain vital energy in the succeeding 3 months. The spiritual practices and mindful routines followed during this period also promote psychological and spiritual healing alongside physical wellness.
